Event Details

Beyond the usual infrastructural and social development in the region, Haldia Development Authority has taken a significant step towards the extension of green cover in the region as well for creating pollution free zones in the area. Shri Jyotirmoy Kar, Hon’ble Chairman, Haldia Development Authority will inaugurate the Plantation programmme at HDA campus on 07 June 2022, 12.00 noon. The function will be graced by Shri Sadhan Ch. Jana, Vice-Chairman, HDA and other dignitaries will be present in the said programme.

Tree planting and other environmental friendly initiatives are being promoted by HDA. Expansion of green zone is being done with an aim to curb CO2 emission, energy conservation and transform the industrial town into cleaner and Greener Haldia. We have also taken up plantation of trees at Haldia Bhawan, Geonkhali Triveni Sangam and industrial areas of Haldia Municipality. Various industries have been permitted to plant trees on the HDA’s service corridor land for improving green cover. In addition, HDA is in the process of setting up of gardens in Geonkhali and Haldia Bhawan with a focus on livelihoods as well.

The Water Distribution Network Pipeline ( Phase 2 and Phase 3) from Brajalalchak Pumping Station to Hatiberia Pumping Station inaugurated by Shri Firhad Hakim, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Transportation and Housing Department, Government of West Bengal , and Smt. Chandrima Bhattacharya, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Department, Department of Finance, Health and Family Welfare Department, Land and Land Reforms and Refugee and Rehabilitation Department ,Government of West Bengal, in presence of Prof. Dr. Saumen Kumar Mahapatra, Hon’ble MIC, Irrigation and Waterways Department , Govt. Of West Bengal, Shri Akhil Giri, Hon’ble MoS, (Independent Charge) Fisheries Department, Govt. of West Bengal , Shri Tilak Kumar Chakraborty, Hon’ble MLA, 208 Mahishadal, Shri Purnandu Maji, WBCS, (Exe.) District Magistrate, Purba Medinipur, and Shri Amarnath K. IPS, Superintendent of Police, Purba Medinipur on the 22nd day of November, 2021 at 01.30 P.M. at Bhawanipur, Haldia.

1) Pipeline Phase 2: Chaitanyapur Pumping Station to Brajalalchak Pumping Station with a length of 8.55 Km at a cost of 12 crore

2) Pipeline Phase 3: Brajalalchak Pumping Station to Hatiberia Pumping Station with a length of 8.215 Km at a cost of 12 crore.
